Polystyrene adhesive Staal & Plast – For EBB & Flow - trays

The Staal & Plast polystyrene adhesive is specially developed for the manufacturer's professional EBB & Flow systems and guarantees a reliable and durable connection of the individual trays. Unlike universal adhesives, it contains high-impact polystyrene (HIPS), identical to the material used in the production of the trays themselves. This allows the materials to be connected practically as one unit, ensuring a strong and water-tight connection.

When building large EBB & Flow tables, the manufacturer recommends that the trays are initially fixed with hot melt glue to ensure correct positioning and compliance with the required assembly joint. Then, polystyrene glue is used, which finally glues the individual trays to each other and ensures a strong connection.

The adhesive is suitable for both new installation and repair of damaged trays. After its complete hardening, a strong and durable bond is obtained that withstands constant contact with water, nutrient solutions and the usual conditions in greenhouses and professional production rooms.

The manufacturer recommends applying the adhesive evenly and sparingly. Excessive application may damage the trays , and such damage is not covered by the warranty.

📋 Method of use

1. Arrange the trays and leave the recommended assembly gap.
2. Secure them temporarily with hot glue if necessary.
3. Apply an even layer of polystyrene adhesive along the entire length of the joint.
4. Allow the adhesive to cure for 48–72 hours at a temperature of around 20°C .
5. Do not use or fill the system with water until the adhesive has fully cured.

⚠️ Important: Do not apply excessive amounts of glue. Excess can damage the trays and such damage is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

💡 Tip from Urban Botaniks: When building large EBB & Flow tables, use the original Staal & Plast adhesive. Thanks to the same HIPS material as the trays, a maximum strong and long-lasting bond is achieved, resistant to daily use and constant contact with water and nutrient solutions.
