Instructions for use:
- Shake well before use!
- Fill the nutrient tank with water ( 20-22°C ).
- Add 0.1 - 1.0 ml of CALMAG to 1 liter of water until an EC of 0.4 mS/cm is reached. To this water add the main nutrients and supplements.
What is the quality of your water?
- Water properties in Bulgaria vary from region to region. CANNA TERRA and COCO fertilizers are most compatible with normal water, usually with an electrical conductivity (EC) of 0.4-0.5.
According to the levels of electrical conductivity, water is divided into four different types:
1.) soft water, 2.) normal water, 3.) hard water and 4.) bad water
What is the difference between soft/hard and/or bad water and what can you do about it?
- Soft water has an EC level of < 0.4 mS/cm . With CANNA CALMAG AGENT you can increase the EC level of your water to 0.4 mS/cm .
- Normal water has an electrical conductivity level between 0.4 and 0.5 mS/cm . It contains calcium, magnesium and bicarbonate to stabilize the pH. CANNA TERRA and COCO base fertilizers are designed to work best with this type of water.
- Hard water ( EC > 0.5 mS/cm ) contains more calcium and magnesium than the plant can absorb. When growing plants, the best way to treat this type of water is to use a reverse osmosis filter and then mix your hard water with the reverse osmosis water until you reach an electrical conductivity (EC) level of 0.4 mS/cm .
- Bad water ( EC>0.5 mS/cm ) contains mostly sodium and chloride. These two elements can block the absorption of beneficial nutrients and become toxic to your plants. With a reverse osmosis filter, you can remove both elements. Simply preparing a mixture of bad water and reverse osmosis water with an EC of 0.4 mS/cm will produce enough bicarbonates to stabilize pH levels, but the calcium and magnesium levels will be too low. Prepare a mixture of osmosis and tap water until you reach an EC of 0.2 mS/cm , and then add CANNA CALMAG AGENT until you reach an EC of 0.4 mS/cm .
